Lady Konchok Palden and her family created Breeze of Delight to share the spiritual knowledge and traditional Tibetan Buddhist practices they had received through their family lineage. Lady Konchok’s aspiration was that these offerings would enrich the lives of those who encountered them and provide meaningful ways for people to connect with traditional Buddhist practice.
In the Tibetan tradition, different practitioners may be sought for different kinds of guidance and ritual practice. For generations, families with specialized knowledge have served their communities through practices such as divination, prayers, consecration, offerings, and other traditional Buddhist ceremonies. Breeze of Delight was created to make some of these practices available to people in the West while honoring the family’s Tibetan Buddhist heritage.
About Lady Konchok Palden
Lady Konchok Palden was a lifelong Tibetan Buddhist practitioner and the mother of the Sakyong, Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche. Trained as a nun from an early age, she escaped Tibet in the early 1960s with Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and later made her home in Boulder, Colorado. She remained devoted to her Buddhist practice throughout her life and shared her knowledge and traditions through her family and community.
Lady Konchok has passed away, and her son, Gyurme Dorjee Onchen, now continues the family’s work and carries forward practices that she helped establish through Breeze of Delight.
About Pema Gyaltsen Onchen Rinpoche
We came to know him as Lama Pegyal. Pema Gyaltsen Onchen Rinpoche belongs to the Onchen lineage, a Tibetan Buddhist family lineage with a long history of religious practice and transmission. His knowledge includes traditional practices such as Mo divination, Buddhist statue and treasure vase consecration, and other ritual practices offered through Breeze of Delight.
Lama Pegyal has spent much of his life preserving and practicing these traditions while sharing them with students and practitioners in the West. His approach reflects the family’s understanding that traditional Tibetan Buddhist practices can offer methods for working with uncertainty, difficulty, devotion, and aspiration.
About Gyurme Dorjee Onchen
Gyurme Dorjee Onchen was born in Bir, India, on September 6, 1974. He attended the local school and also studied at home with his parents. Lady Konchok, Lama Pegyal, and Gyurme Dorjee traveled to Tibet together in 1987, continuing the family’s connection with their homeland and Buddhist heritage.
Today, Gyurme Dorjee continues the family tradition and carries forward practices that were shared through his parents. Following Lady Konchok’s passing, he has taken on an increasingly important role in continuing the offerings and practices of Breeze of Delight.
